Sometimes particles on the back of the lens you're about to mount on a DSLR will end up on the image sensor. A great way to cut down on the possibility of unwanted sensor dust is to blow off the back of your lens every time before you mount it on your camera. I prefer a simple Rocket Blaster that delivers a clean burst of air. Stay away from canned air and other aerosols. Use your simple blower bulb every time you change lenses, and you will help protect yourself against sensor dust.
