Bruce Dale
Bruce Dale

With over two thousand photographs published by National Geographic alone, Bruce Dale's vision and creativity have twice earned him the title "Magazine Photographer of the Year." Dale has photographed in over 75 countries throughout the world and the world itself, on board the NASA Voyager spacecraft. His innovative work with digital imaging has earned him honors from the Smithsonian Institution. A unique, coveted style of natural spontaneity serves as a signature to his photos. In the field, Dale exemplifies patience, problem-solving ability and experience in working with "real people" and, accordingly, can teach how to create astounding images.

Bruce talk will include practical solutions to digital photography challenges, including film speeds, color balance and getting the most out of your camera, working in the field, essential gear, workflow options, printing solutions and working with panoramas.

Bob Krist

World-renowned photographer Bob Krist is frequently on assignment for magazines like National Geographic Traveler, Smithsonian and Islands. He serves as a contributing editor for both National Geographic and Outdoor Photographer. With his travel photographs he's earned awards in competitions like Pictures of the Year, Communication Arts and World Press Photo. He's also been named "Travel Photographer of the Year" by the Society of American Travel Writers. One of his photography books, "Tuscany," spent a month on the New York Times bestseller list. Share in his expertise of all seven continents, their photographic offerings and the techniques that have made Krist so successful.

Bob will be discussing techniques in travel photography, making most of natural light on land and people, lenses and composition, flash basics, essential gear and planning and executing a travel assignment.een part of National Geographic's travel photography seminar series. He writes extensively about techniques from his travel photography in Outdoor Photographer's "Photo Traveler" column. His books include In Tuscany, a collaboration with author Frances Mayes. It spent a month on the New York Times bestseller list.

One of the great nature photographers of our time, Frans Lanting's influential work appears in books, magazines, and exhibitions around the world. For over two decades he's documented wildlife and man's relationship with nature from the Amazon to Antarctica. A Photographer-in-Residence for National Geographic, he labored for a year on a feature for the February 1999 issue that assessed global biodiversity at the turn of the millennium. Noted author, recipient of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and the Sierra Club's Ansel Adams Award, he possesses a personal relationship that he has learned to actualize into a profession.

Frans will discuss tips, techniques and philosophies for making the most out of landscape and wildlife photos, and how these relate to his most recent projects, including the critically-acclaimed, Life: A Journey Through Time.

David Middleton
David Middleton

David has published 10 books and led more than 150 nature/photography tours and over 200 photography workshops in places such as Alaska, Arctic Canada, the National Parks of the US, Costa Rica, Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands, Antarctica and the Falkland Islands for a variety of private companies and conservation organizations including the National Audubon Society, the National Wildlife Federation, Maine Audubon Society, Voyagers, Maine Photographic Workshops, the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, Orvis, Santa Fe Workshops, Elderhostel and Penn State University. These days he teaches between 6 -12 workshops a year and critiques about 10,000 slides a year.

David will be drawing from his extensive photographic experience to cover the following topics: practical solutions to challenges in digital photography, film speeds, color balance and getting the most out of your camera, working in the field, essential gear, workflow options, printing solutions and Photoshop simplified.
