"In 2004, I was covering the Labrador seal hunt. The Sea Shepherd Society gave me an opportunity to photograph the seal nurseries before the hunt began. On the second day, conditions were brutal: high winds and a ground blizzard of ice crystals. It was so dangerous that I and another photographer decided to head back to the helicopter. I stepped forward and the ice collapsed, plunging me into the freezing cold water. I was terrified that I would be trapped under the ice."

"Fortunately, I had just bought a DryZone 200. Even though it was fully loaded, the DryZone held my head and shoulders above water and saved my life.

"My boots froze to my feet and I lost the $5,000 worth of camera equipment I had around my neck. Everything in the DryZone was fine, including the camera my late father had given me. Most importantly, I was fine, too.
