A Montreal La Presse staff photographer since 1984 Bernard has documented 30 Grand Prix of Canada in Montreal and eight Olympic Games, and contributed 125 dramatic images to the book, Les Québécois à Lillehammer, published in 1994. Bernard has received numerous prizes and honorable mentions, more than 200 from 5 different continents. For 2007 he was chosen Canadian Photographer of the Year by the NPAC (National Photographers Association of Canada) and he had the best picture of the year also with a portrait of a British security guard. Although specializing in sports photography Bernard also photographs news, travel, fashion and portraiture.
