"What
drives me to make photographers is an innate need to create an image of
the things I see. It's like freezing time, and for that 1/125 or 1/400
or 1/8 of a second I am able to show others exactly how I see the
world. I have always believed that photographers shoot what they see,
and I try to follow the example set by the masters, giving everyone a
chance to see moments of captured time."
While Ian's
primary focus is assignment shooting, his passion lies in environmental
portraits and travel. "I always have a few side projects going on, as I
feel it's important to break away from assignment shooting when
possible," according to Ian. Recently, he has made a push to increase
his stock photography work.
Ian's work has appeared in Conde Nast Traveler, Men's Journal, Marie Claire, Muscle and Fitness, Flex, Field & Stream, Time Out NY, Psychology Today, Jamrock, Los Angeles Magazine, Dealmaker, Trader Monthly and Private Air.
He was awarded as a merit winner for photographs of a Hedge Fund
Manager group, all of whom competes at a boxing club in London. He has
also been featured by Fuji Film at the NY Photo Show at the Javitz
Center.
