"What interests me is that you can meld techniques together from the 19th century up to the 21st
century in a seamless manner in order to make a statement. All stops
have been removed in order to use everything available today as a tool
to be used in any way, shape or form. There are no boundaries, and
photography has become a mixed media art form."
A fine art and editorial photographer, Jill has taught handcoloring
and non-silver techniques at schools in New York City and throughout
the USA and Europe. Jill uses historical techniques to enhance the
textural and painterly effects in combination with all photographic
elements to create artistic, often ethereal imagery.
Her work is in the collections of RJ Reynolds Co., Southeast Banking
Corp., Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellãn in Colombia, The Boca Raton
Museum of Art and Hotel Parisi in La Jolla. Jill's book "Photo Imaging"
won the Golden Light Award for best Technical Book of 2002. She is now
working on a book of portraits using the wet collodion glass plate
negative technique.
