"People
think I'm only a nature photographer. I also enjoy architecture and
fine art photography using shape, form and color. That shows in my
outdoor work also. Photography has been a way for me to define myself.
It also serves as kind of a diary of my adult life. When I look at an
old image of mine, I can recall vividly what kind of day it was and my
emotions at the time."
"It's still a rectangle!" When workshop students get too wrapped up
in technical stuff (especially digital) I remind them, and sometimes
myself, to return to basic composition. After all, it all begins in
that little viewfinder."
