"I love the sea. That's a good thing. Often I have the challenge of the elements. The wind is blowing like stink, it's bumpy, I'm holding on for dear life, yet I have to find the right angle and frame the shot and make sure I don't fall off the boat. It helps that I was in the business of sailing. I understand which way racing boats will go and keep out of the way."

Onne, a top sailing photographer, competed in the demanding Whitbread round-the-world race and sailed around the Horn three times. His work appears regularly in SAIL, Outside Magazine and The New York Times. Four years ago he opened a gallery ”nautically themed, of course” in Newport, RI.
