"The simplicity and beauty of the world around me is my inspiration—a colorful sunrise, a child's innocent smile, a ray of sunshine on golden autumn leaves, a fog-enshrouded forest, an animal's quizzical gaze. For me, the quest to explore the great out-of-doors is akin to a treasure hunt—there's the potential for something new to be found each time I venture out. I'm also most fortunate that my business partner and wife, Dody, shares this passion with me."

Rick and Dody are based in Northwestern Montana. Rick holds a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering and is a self-taught photographer. He is a frequent contributor to Outdoor Photographer, and his articles and photos also have appeared in Shutterbug, Women in the Outdoors, Viewfinder and Tamron U.S.A.'s Pro-Learning Center.
