“I started my career in television in 1957 in the mail room at KABV-TV, Los Angeles,
where I learned that what I really wanted to do was to become a
director-cinematographer. I since have had the opportunity to work on
television programs such as the “Barbara Walters Specials”, “The
Laugh-In”, and specials with Perry Como and Dorothy Hamill, to name a
few. I have earned a number of awards including two Emmy Awards for
best direction: ‘Peggy Fleming in Sun Valley,’ and ‘Dinah Shore in Israel.””
In 1993, I moved to Mariposa, California, and turned my attention to
producing nature films in Yosemite National Park, including “The
Seasons,” “Watersongs,” and “Lightdances.” I collaborated with renown
rock climber, Ron Kauk, on our first film together, “Ascending Rhythm,”
and more recently on “Return to Balance, A Climber’s Journey,” which is
filmed in Panasonic 1080i high definition. “Return to Balance” was
honored with the “People’s Choice Award” at the 2005 Wild and Scenic
Film Festival.
