Q: What are your zipper care recommendations?
A: Always try to take strain off your zipper before closing your bag. Press the cover down to compress your bag or pack before zipping. Don't use the zipper itself to pull the sides of the compartment closed, as this puts undue stress on both the pull and the zipper coil. When possible, use the web tabs provided at the zipper ends to hold while you pull the zipper. Always utilize the compression straps, if available, that cross the main zipper. The straps will provide support by taking strain off of the zipper and contribute to a longer zipper life. NOTE: Our DryZone products have additional zipper care requirements provided with the product.

Easily position optional SlipLock add-ons to the attachment loops. The SlipLock System provides options, with its loops and tabs:

Q: With my DryZone, I've used the TIZIP(R) lubricant, where do I find more of this product for my zipper?
A: Most outdoor and diving equipment stores carry zipper care lubricant products appropriate for the TIZIP(R) zipper. We recommend using a zipper lubricant that contains no silicone or paraffin, and that is non-toxic and biodegradable. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. These products are also available online.[Return to top]
Q:How do I maintain the TIZIP?
A: Regular maintenance with TIZIP lubricant is necessary for long-term performance. Follow steps 1-9 shown in the illustration below, to properly lubricate the TIZIP. To protect the pod while lubricating the TIZIP, place a cloth between the TIZIP and the pod.
TIZIP Lubrication Steps 1-9
Open zipper, and apply lubricant to the outer teeth of zipper, chain tips and outer flanges of the sealing profile over the complete length. Open and close the TIZIP carefully a few times to evenly distribute the lubricant. Repeat process until zipper moves freely over teeth and then wipe away excess with cloth. To protect and prolong zipper life, apply periodically and prior to long term storage.
