Whistler has been Paul Douglas Morrison's home for 40+ years. In that time, it has grown from Vancouver's 'local mountain' to one of the world's busiest resorts and host to the 2010 Olympic alpine events.
For 35 seasons, Paul has served as the staff photographer for the ski area as well as working as a senior photographer for leading industry publications like Powder Magazine in the United States, and Skier Magazine in Canada, as well as contributing to ski publications around the world.
Years ago, Paul was caught in an avalanche while on assignment. Thankfully, he survived without extreme injury, but his Lowepro bag was left under the snow. A season later, he went back to the site and found his pack and gear all intact and in good working condition.
Since his youth, Paul dreamed of finding a way to make a living by skiing and travelling the world with the tools of the trade on his back. After studying photography in college and learning how to ski, Paul's cameras have been safely carried in Lowepro bags – and his career has truly exceeded his dreams.
"The goal is a seamless link between the photographer and his or her cameras. Quickness and ease of access, comfort and stability while in motion combined with superior protection from the elements – that's what I get in my Lowepro bags."
