Hi, my name is Craig Parry, a wildlife and adventure photographer from Byron Bay, Australia. Growing up in Byron Bay, I developed a profound appreciation for photography at a young age, immersing myself in the beauty of the natural world. My passion grew during my teenage years when I began experimenting with various techniques to capture stunning moments in nature and portraits. For the past decade, I have proudly served as a domestic and global ambassador for Sony and Lowepro, sharing my expertise through engaging content creation and photography workshops. My dedication to my craft and commitment to education has made a significant impact in the photography community. Working as a CollaborOceans ambassador has been incredible and rewarding. Earlier this year, we created a youth event by inviting 700 school students from around Australia to celebrate World Oceans Day in Sydney. Next year, we are planning a bigger and better event, which may also include the USA.
The Ocean
The ocean—a world that covers over 70% of our planet, yet so much of it remains unseen and unknown. It’s an intricate web of life, home to incredible biodiversity and inspiring beauty. But it’s also a world in danger. From plastic pollution to overfishing and climate change, the ocean is calling out for protection—and we must listen.
Every time I take my camera beneath the surface, I’m not just capturing moments—I’m telling a story. A story of life, of fragility, and of resilience. A single image has the power to make people pause, to feel a connection to something bigger than themselves. When people see these images, I want them to feel what I feel when I’m down there—awe, respect, and a sense of responsibility.

Inspiring Action: A Photographer’s Mission
That’s why I’ve made it my mission to share the ocean’s story through my lens, hoping that these images will inspire action, even if it’s just a small change in perspective. But it doesn’t stop with my own work. Teaching others the art of photography has become an equally important part of my journey.
Teaching Photography: Forging a Deeper Connection
When someone picks up a camera for the first time and looks at the ocean through a lens, it changes their relationship with it. Suddenly, they’re not just observing—they’re immersed in its beauty. They notice the little details—the patterns of the waves, the movement of a fish, the way light dances underwater. The camera makes them more present, more aware. In teaching photography, I’m not just helping people take pictures—I’m helping them forge a deeper connection with the ocean.
The Power of Connection and Responsibility
I’ve seen firsthand how that connection grows into something powerful. Once you’ve experienced the ocean in this way, it becomes impossible to ignore its importance, and you feel compelled to protect it. The ocean gives us so much, and it’s our responsibility to give something back. Through photography, I hope to inspire people to see the ocean not just as a distant force, but as part of our collective story—one we must all work together to protect.
