THE MISSION
Professional photographer and Lowepro ambassador Chandler Borries has travelled to countless parts of the world and seen first-hand the effects of climate change. This motivated him to make a difference through his work by creating pictures and movies to raise awareness of the global crisis. However, this wasn't sufficient for him. To further combat the effects of climate change, Chandler established Forests For The Future. It's a non-profit organization dedicated to replanting trees in regions of the world that have been most severely affected by excessive logging and forest fires. Chandler has partnered with Lowepro as an ambassador to support the implementation of Forests For The Future's mission to replant 10 million trees by 2025.

Knowing that the gear I use is helping our planet and ultimately working towards Forests For The Future's mission, it makes me extremely proud to be an ambassador. Lowepro is giving NGO’s like Forests For The Future a voice through their platform and ultimately bringing awareness to the urgency of climate change. To me, this validates their green pledge to a sustainable future.
Since we’ve started Forests For The Future, we’ve teamed up with a few key reforestation programs around the world. These programs are in areas crucial for the survival of forests and animals that live there. The first is Black Jaguar Foundation in the Amazon rainforest and the Cerrado savanna, in Brazil. Next is Reforest Now in northern New South Wales, Australia. They focus on this part of Australia, as well as the southern region where the 2020 fires ravaged the country. Lastly is Tree Canada. They're Canada’s only national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments, in every province across the country. The cost to plant one tree is just $5. To put this price into perspective, this is the cost of one cup of coffee.
