Creator Weekend Guide with Fastpack IV

Pack Smart, Travel Light

by Bryton Wilson

As a photographer, some of my favorite shoots happen on weekends. A quick road trip, a new city, a scenic viewpoint along the way. The plan is usually simple: pack light, stay flexible, and be ready when a great photo opportunity appears.

The challenge? Bringing everything I need without carrying multiple bags.

Weekend Checklist

For a typical weekend photo trip, I usually pack:

• Full-frame camera

• Multiple lens options

• Drone and batteries

• Tripod

• Laptop and charger

• Extra layers for changing weather

• Passport and travel documents

• Notebook

• Water bottle

That's where the Lowepro Fastpack IV comes in.

Its split-compartment design allows me to carry my camera gear and everyday essentials in one place. I can bring my full-frame camera, multiple lenses, a tripod, and my drone, while still having room for extra layers, my laptop, and smaller items like my passport or notebook. On top of that, the included All Weather Cover helps keep everything dry and protected when conditions change.

Always Ready for the Shot

One of my favorite features of the Fastpack IV is the quick side-access camera compartment. When I'm traveling, some of the best moments happen unexpectedly, and speed matters.

With the Fastpack, I can grab my camera, take the shot, and store it away again without even taking the backpack off, making it a practical travel photography backpack for capturing spontaneous moments. Whether I'm walking through a city, exploring a new destination, or pulling over at a scenic overlook, having my camera within reach makes it easier to capture those spontaneous moments that often become my favorite images.

Comfort and Ergonomics in the Field

During long treks and extended shooting sessions, the backpack remained consistently comfortable. Its semi rigid structure kept the load stable and close to my back, while the wide shoulder straps helped distribute the weight evenly throughout the day.

The lumbar support and chest strap reduced pressure on my shoulders and made a noticeable difference during longer outings. What really stands out, though, is the backpack’s compact shape. Even when fully packed, it feels balanced and natural to carry.

Find Your Perfect Fastpack Travel Camera Backpack

The Lowepro Fastpack IV comes in three sizes, making it easy to choose the right travel camera backpack for the type of trip and the amount of photography gear I want to bring.

Fastpack IV 450: Pack It All

When I need the most flexibility, I reach for the Fastpack IV 450, a spacious camera backpack for photographers carrying multiple lenses, a drone, and travel essentials. It easily carries everything I need for a full weekend away, with enough space to keep my gear organised and accessible. The customisable dividers let me configure the camera compartment to match my setup, making it easy to organise lenses, accessories, and drone equipment for any shoot.

Fastpack IV 150: Travel Light

For lighter adventures, the Fastpack 150 is a great option. It has a lower profile and travels comfortably, while still offering enough space for a full-frame camera and a drone. It's perfect when I want to keep my kit simple without giving up protection or convenience.

Pack Your Gear. Enjoy the Adventure.

When travelling with photography gear, the last thing I want is a camera backpack that gets in the way.

Knowing my equipment is protected and always within easy reach lets me focus on what really matters: exploring new places, discovering unexpected moments, and telling stories through travel and outdoor photography.

The Fastpack IV 450 camera backpack feels less like a camera bag and more like a reliable travel companion, helping me stay organised, prepared, and ready for whatever the weekend brings.
